About

Crys is currently completing the last year of their doctoral training as a psychology intern at WWU. They earned their bachelor's degree in psychology from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA, and worked for several years in an inpatient psychiatric hospital before attending Texas Tech University's Counseling Psychology doctorate program. They are passionate about college counseling and student mental health, and have worked extensively with queer, neurodiverse, and first-generation students.

As a therapist, Crys approaches client concerns from a holistic relational-cultural framework, believing that every person has an innate drive to connect with themself, their community, and the world around them. Guided by individual client needs, Crys integrates elements of various therapeutic approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Existential-Humanistic Therapy, and Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy.
