Doctoral Internship Program

Greetings from the Coordinator of Training

Thank you for your interest in the Doctoral Internship Program at the Western Washington University (WWU) Counseling and Wellness Center. I am excited to share information about the exceptional training opportunities available at the CWC and the dedicated supervision team that partners with doctoral interns throughout this important final year of training.

Our APA-accredited doctoral internship program is grounded in the standards established by the American Psychological Association’s Commission on Accreditation and reflects our strong commitment to excellence in training. The internship experience is shaped through the collaborative efforts of our licensed senior staff, who view training and mentorship as central to our mission. At the CWC, we are passionate about fostering a supportive, challenging, and enriching learning environment that helps interns develop confidence, competence, and a strong professional identity.

We seek interns who are enthusiastic, engaged, and eager to contribute as valued clinical staff. We encourage interns to fully immerse themselves in the work, serve the diverse WWU campus community, and actively participate in the ongoing growth and refinement of our training program. We view our interns as important members of our team whose perspectives, energy, and dedication enrich our center and enhance the services we provide.

I invite you to explore the information provided and learn more about what makes training at the WWU Counseling and Wellness Center such a rewarding experience. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out—I would be delighted to connect with you.

Sincerely,
Ruby Casiano, Ph.D.
