Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Substance Abuse Prevention Coordinator


Gwen received her Master of Arts in Counseling from Michigan State University in 2007. She has a background in cognitive behavioral therapy, which she uses in conjunction with acceptance commitment therapy as the foundation for her work. She tries to help her clients identify patterns of behavior and increase their level of personal insight and flexibility. She thinks of herself as a guide, and works collaboratively towards what is important in her client’s life with compassion and understanding, using their goals as her framework.

Professional interests

Substance use problems, co-occurring disorders, mood disorders, relational issues, trauma, disordered eating.  Concerns  specific to student athletes, LGBTQ+, veterans/military.

Personal interests

Travel, running, hiking, making/eating good food, gardening, crafts, and board games!
