Black Student Support Specialist, Staff Therapist
(he/him)

About

Jevon, an avid nature and outdoors fan, joins the Counseling and Wellness Center team with a focus on building community and connection across campus. Invigorated by engineering, athletics, and social work practices, Jevon uses respect and a dash of humor to partner with his clients on the cycles and patterns that guide behaviors and show up in our daily activities. Prioritizing authenticity, values and self-directed dreams, issues and symptoms are explored with compassion and nonjudgement. Rooted in higher education settings, clients have the opportunity to curate their experience within a collaborative space for exploring healthy coping skills, practicing mindfulness, and establishing effective communication habits with your most valuable constituent: yourself.

In his role as a Black Student Support Specialist, Jevon is excited to join the supporters, advocates, and partners already in place who have been working to create an inclusive environment for our students and bring us closer together as a community. He's also passionate about using the power of nature, fellowship, and adventure to heal people of color and redefine their relationships with the outdoors.
